Over 13,000 Institutions Pile into Michael Saylor’s Strategy Stock

Michael Saylor’s company, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), is seeing significant institutional interest. Over 13,000 institutions currently hold shares in the firm, according to a recent revelation by Saylor. Notably, Vanguard Group, a notoriously skeptical of Bitcoin stance, leads the pack with more than 16 million shares. However, this shareholding did decrease slightly during Q4 2024. Other top institutions holding MSTR stock include BlackRock, UBS Asset Management AG, State Street Global Advisors, Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management, and Morgan Stanley. Adding to this, 814,000 individual investors hold the shares in their accounts. In total, an estimated 55 million beneficiaries also have indirect exposure to MSTR via exchange-traded funds, pension funds, and more. As per U.Today, Strategy joined the Nasdaq-100 index in late 2024 following significant gains that year. The stock has experienced a 5.73% increase year-to-date, outperforming the Nasdaq-100’s decline of 13%. This interest stems from Strategy’s massive Bitcoin purchases, which have now reached over 531,000 coins, pushing total holdings above this mark.
