Crypto Expert’s $110K Portfolio Plummets 60%, but He’s Still Betting Big

Renowned crypto analyst Van de Poppe has been hit with a painful 60% portfolio decline, wiping out over $110,000 of his investments. This comes after he went all-in on altcoins during the summer of 2024, and although this marked a significant setback, he’s not backing down. Drawing parallels to a past bear market where he lost 80% of his holdings only to see them multiply by 100x afterward, Van de Poppe is adapting his approach rather than retreating from the market. He’s restructured his portfolio by exiting a $20,000 position in ENS and redirecting those funds into other altcoins as part of a broader rebalancing effort. He plans to implement a structured rebalancing model, either monthly or quarterly, to navigate volatility more effectively. While he acknowledges the downturn is partly due to macroeconomic pressures like weakening currencies, Van de Poppe believes these challenges create significant long-term opportunities in the crypto market.
