Nearly half of surveyed adults, reflecting a sample of 3,600 people, stated that these tariffs would negatively impact both their wallets and the nation’s economy. While Republicans remain divided, with 44% finding these tariffs beneficial, Democrats express a clear disapproval, with 80% indicating a detrimental effect. Lead author Christine Huang highlights this division in opinion: ‘Regardless of their stance on trade relations, Americans are deeply divided about whether tariffs will be good for the country.’
