Quantum Computing Challenge: Cracking the Bitcoin Key for 1 BTC Reward

Project 11, a company focusing on quantum computing research, launched a competition called Q-Day Prize to test the limits of quantum computers. Participants are challenged to break a portion of Bitcoin’s ECC key using Shor’s algorithm on a quantum computer by April 5, 2026. The prize: 1 BTC. This event aims to benchmark the threat of quantum computing and develop solutions to protect crypto networks like Bitcoin.
