Semler Scientific Doubles Down on Bitcoin Investment: Secures Funding to Expand Holdings

Despite experiencing a $41.8 million loss on its Bitcoin investments due to the first quarter 2025 price drop of 12%, Semler Scientific is committing further to the cryptocurrency, aiming to raise an additional $500 million through security offerings. This capital will be used to bolster their Bitcoin holdings as they continue to invest in the asset. Semler currently holds 3,182 Bitcoins valued at approximately $263.5 million. While a potential settlement of nearly $30 million with the U.S. is under discussion, Semler’s expected earnings for the current quarter range between $8.8 million and $8.9 million. The company anticipates operating losses that could reach up to $1.5 million, however, holds about $10 million in cash reserves.
