Despite continued frequency, profitability of Ethereum sandwich attacks has dropped significantly in 2025, indicating a shift in attacker strategies and user-driven defense mechanisms. Data from EigenPhi shows monthly extraction value plummeting from near $10 million in late 2024 to just $2.5 million by October 2025. This decline coincided with the growth of decentralized exchanges (DEXs), which saw their monthly volumes jump from $65 billion to over $100 billion between 2024 and 2025. However, this boom hasn’t led to higher profits for attackers. 8-Attacks remain high at around 60,000-90,000 per month, but profit has fallen dramatically – averaging just $3 per attack with less than six making more than $10,000 in total revenue this year.
