Malaysia has taken a decisive step in curbing illegal cryptocurrency mining by dismantling 14,000 rigs responsible for significant power theft. This action resulted in the recovery of over $1.1 billion worth of stolen electricity. Despite targeting Bitcoin mining specifically, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies remain unaffected at this time.
