Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is preparing for an ambitious financial maneuver with plans for a billion-dollar valuation and anticipated IPO listing in 2026. According to reports from Odaily, the company has secured funding through a new round of venture capital, setting its sights on a target of $300 billion. For this endeavor, Anthropic has partnered with Wilson Sonsini, a California law firm specializing in IPOs and regulatory matters, to guide them through the process. Analysts believe this substantial capital injection will position Anthropic for greater competition against Sam Altman’s OpenAI, whose consumer subscription growth for its ChatGPT service has recently slowed down. Despite these challenges, Anthropic is viewed as having a more favorable path towards profitability compared to OpenAI.
