Following a recent attack on the Shibarium Bridge that has exposed SHIB community members to significant risks, Lucy, Head of Marketing for the SHIB token, issued a public call for action. 2 December 2025, she urged the FBI, Interpol, and the RCMP to investigate the perpetrators of this fraudulent scheme. She emphasized the urgent need for authorities to address the growing cybercrime in the crypto space.
Lucy’s calls for action came after the recent Shibarium Bridge exploit revealed several malicious transactions. An investigation by a local team at SHIB, led by Lucie, identified the attack’s perpetrators and traced funds to KuCoin, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange. The investigator discovered 48 KuCoin deposits from 45 unique addresses linked to the breach.
The investigation is still ongoing. While the team works to recover stolen funds, KuCoin has been slow to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. Despite requests for immediate action on the case, Kucoin demanded a formal case number before initiating any takedown or recovery actions. Lucy, however, has challenged this reluctance and urged swift action from both authorities and KuCoin.
This recent attack highlights the growing concern over cyberattacks in the crypto space. The investigation continues as Lucy calls for greater urgency from law enforcement agencies to address these issues effectively.
