Crypto Exchange Coinbase Reports Surge in Law Enforcement Data Requests

Coinbase’s annual transparency report reveals a significant rise in law enforcement requests during the period from October 2024 to September 2025. The report highlights growing regulatory scrutiny on digital assets as authorities intensify their oversight of this sector. Notably, over half of these requests (approximately 53%) originated from outside the United States, with prominent locations including Germany, the UK, France, Spain, and Australia contributing significantly. While U.S.-based law enforcement agencies contributed 5,444 requests, representing a consistent trend since 2022, international requests are on the rise.
