Europol & Swiss Authorities Dismantle Cryptocurrency Mixer ‘Cryptomixer’ in Cross-Border Action

Europol has announced the successful dismantling of the cryptocurrency mixer, Cryptomixer, through a joint effort with German and Swiss authorities. The operation, which took place in Switzerland, resulted in the seizure of three servers, 12 terabytes of data, and over $27 million in cryptocurrency. Since its launch in 2016, Cryptomixer has allegedly laundered more than $1.4 billion worth of Bitcoin. Experts suggest this action may temporarily hinder criminal activities but are likely to see these groups adapt their money-laundering techniques within weeks.
