Yearn Finance yETH Exploit Drains $3 Million in ETH

A security breach involving Yearn Finance’s yETH product has resulted in the loss of approximately $3 million worth of Ethereum (ETH). The attacker exploited a vulnerability in the older version of the protocol’s contract and transferred the funds via Tornado Cash. Despite the breach, Yearn Finance’s newer V2 and V3 vaults remain unaffected as the attack only targeted outdated contracts. 50-year old system flaws are blamed for this exploit. 0.2% of the total supply of Ethereum (ETH) was affected by this event.
