Kraken Introduces U.S. Equities Trading on its Platform

Kraken, the San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange, has launched equity trading on its mobile and web platforms. This new feature empowers US customers to manage crypto, stocks, and financial assets all within a single account, mimicking services offered by brokerages like Robinhood. The company’s partnership with licensed broker-dealer Alpaca enables over 11,000 stocks and ETFs to be traded commission-free. Notably, fractional shares are included in these new offerings, allowing investors to purchase partial ownership of a stock. Initially available in select US states, Kraken plans to expand nationwide in phases. The company’s ambitions extend to entering the UK, Europe, and Australia in future markets.
