Polygon Considers Token Code Reversal Following Community Feedback

Polygon’s co-founder and CEO, Sandeep Nailwal, addressed the community on X regarding a potential code change for the MATIC token. He acknowledged requests from the community to revert the token code from POL back to MATIC, citing improved recognition of the latter name. Despite personal preference to maintain the current code, POL, Nailwal recognized that community feedback deserves consideration. However, he emphasized that project decisions should not solely be based on opinions of a limited portion of the crypto market, which represents less than 5% of active traders. He noted the importance of incorporating input from a wider range of users while acknowledging potential obstacles to implementing such a change given trading platforms’ agreements are needed.
