Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink, recently discussed the progress of decentralized finance (DeFi) adoption in an interview with MN Capital founder Michael van de Poppe. Nazarov estimated that DeFi has currently achieved around 30% of its large-scale adoption process and predicts full global adoption by 2030. He attributed this growth to the increasing development of DeFi applications, suggesting regulatory clarity on DeFi’s reliability could boost global adoption to 50%. Nazarov also highlighted the potential for increased adoption with clearer pathways for institutional investment in DeFi, leading to a rate of 70%. Finally, he emphasized that comparing DeFi’s capital base to traditional financial allocations would facilitate full adoption, reaching 100%.
