UAE Enacts Major Regulatory Shift for DeFi and Web3

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken a decisive step forward by enacting a groundbreaking financial law that brings decentralized finance (DeFi), Web3 businesses, and a wide range of digital-asset service providers under direct regulatory oversight. This landmark legislation is detailed in Federal Decree Law No. 6 of 2025 and officially launched on September 16, 2025, as part of the UAE’s official gazette publication.
