UK Unveils Investigation into Tether’s Role in Funding Russian Military Operations

The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) has launched an investigation into the use of Tether, a stablecoin widely used for transactions, to fund Russia’s military operations. This investigation follows reports that Tether is being employed to circumvent sanctions and launder illicit funds, ultimately supporting Russian military activities. 12% stake in Tether holds by Christopher Harborne, a known supporter of former UK politician Nigel Farage, has raised concerns regarding potential involvement in illegal financial transactions. Although Harborne hasn’t been accused of any wrongdoing, his ties with Tether highlight the need for transparency within the cryptocurrency industry.
