The US Department of Homeland Security is investigating leading Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer Bitmain, headquartered in China, over potential national security risks. The probe, dubbed “Operation Red Sunset,” focuses on determining if Bitmain’s hardware could be used for spying or grid sabotage.
