Pakistan’s First AI University Planned in Lahore, Says Maryam Nawaz

Pakistani Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced plans to establish the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) University in Lahore. Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025, she highlighted the importance of equipping students with AI and advanced technology skills to prepare them for a future-oriented society. She emphasizes this move will empower young women by providing essential skills for future advancement. Her initiatives include the planned AI university, as well as significant advancements in education across Punjab. These include improved primary school infrastructure, new digital learning rooms, reopened schools, and scholarships based on merit rather than connections. 50,000 students are now receiving scholarships to further their educational pursuits. Additionally, Nawaz Sharif’s legacy of pushing for educational development continues through these efforts.
