Founder of Virtual Assets LLC Indicted on Money Laundering Conspiracy

Firas Isa, the founder of Chicago-based Virtual Assets LLC, which operates Crypto Dispensers, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for his alleged involvement in a money laundering conspiracy. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, Isa conspired with others to convert and transfer at least $10 million in illicit proceeds from telecommunications fraud and drug-related activities into virtual wallets, effectively concealing their origins. Both Isa and his company face charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Isa and co-conspirators pleaded not guilty to the charges. A status hearing is scheduled for January 30, 2026.
