Harvard Doubles Bitcoin ETF Stake, Shows Confidence in Crypto Amidst Market Uncertainty

Harvard University has significantly increased its investment in BlackRock’s Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), tripling its holdings in the third quarter. The university’s endowment management company reported over 6.8 million shares in iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) worth $442.8 million, a notable move considering their traditional aversion to ETFs. This investment marks Harvard’s largest position on its filing and was part of a broader strategy of diversifying their portfolio beyond technology giants like Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and Alphabet.
