Fact Check: UAE Law Clarifies Crypto Regulations, Does Not Ban Bitcoin

A claim circulating on social media falsely alleges that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned Bitcoin. This claim is misleading and stems from a misinterpretation of new financial regulations introduced by the country. The UAE’s Federal-Decree Law No. 6 of 2025, effective September 16, 2025, addresses licensing requirements for financial services related to virtual assets.
