U.S. Launches Crackdown on Southeast Asian Crypto Scams

The U.S. government has formed a dedicated task force to combat the growing problem of cryptocurrency scams originating in Southeast Asia, specifically targeting high-risk regions like Burma, Cambodia, and Laos. The Scam Center Strike Force, with representatives from the Department of Justice, FBI, Treasury Department, and Meta alongside Microsoft, aims to disrupt criminal networks exploiting popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum for financial gain.
