CryptoPunks Trader Indicted for $13 Million Tax Fraud

Waylon Wilcox, a prominent NFT trader from Pennsylvania, has been indicted for filing false income tax returns. Wilcox deliberately omitted approximately $13 million in income related to his sales of CryptoPunks NFTs on his 2021 and 2022 tax returns, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. This concealed significant revenue from selling the NFTs which ultimately led to a potential jail term of up to six years.
