China Alleges U.S. Orchestrated $13 Billion Bitcoin Heist from LuBian Mining Pool

China has accused the U.S. government of orchestrating a massive $13 billion bitcoin theft from the LuBian mining pool in December 2020. The Chinese National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center claims over 120,000 bitcoins were stolen, and this breach was recently revealed by Arkham Intelligence as one of the largest crypto thefts in history. The agency believes the heist was carried out by a state-level hacking operation likely run by the U.S. government, pointing to unusual slow movement patterns in relation to typical hacks.
