Coinbase Loses €21.5M in Fines for AML Failures

The Irish Central Bank has issued a hefty €21.5 million penalty to Coinbase Europe Limited, citing failings in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing compliance between 2021 and 2025. This marks the first such fine against a crypto firm, highlighting the increasing regulatory scrutiny over the sector.
