CME Group Reports Spike in Cryptocurrency Futures Trading Volume for October

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) has released its trading data for October, revealing a notable surge in cryptocurrency futures contract activity. Average daily trading volume (ADV) reached 379,000 contracts, with a nominal value of $15.3 billion. Notably, micro Ethereum futures contracts saw a particularly dramatic increase, exhibiting an ADV of 222,000 contracts – representing a staggering 583% jump compared to September. Similarly, micro Bitcoin futures saw a 60% growth in ADV, reaching 80,000 contracts. Lastly, Ethereum futures contracts saw a 357% increase in trading volume, with an ADV of 24,000 contracts.
