Romania Bans Polymarket’s Operations Due to Licensing Concerns

Polymarket, a platform specializing in predicting future events’ outcomes, has been banned from operating in Romania by the country’s National Gambling Office. The decision comes after the Romanian regulator determined that betting on such events for real money constitutes gambling and necessitates a license. Vlad-Cristian Soare, director of the Romanian Gambling Authority, emphasized their commitment to preventing blockchain technology from being exploited for illegal gambling activities.
