Thai Deputy Finance Minister Resigns Amid Fraud Allegations

Thailand’s Deputy Finance Minister, Worapark Tanyayon, has resigned following allegations of involvement with a telecom fraud group. This marks the first resignation from a cabinet member since Prime Minister Anutin took office. Authorities have linked Worapark to a foreign fraudster operating in Cambodia, with his wife accused of receiving $3 million in cryptocurrency from a Cambodian criminal network this year. Worapark refuted any wrongdoing, stating he was resigning to focus on his legal defense and expressing concern that the situation could impact his ability to perform his duties at the Ministry of Finance.
