Kadena Halts Operations, Community Takes Control of Blockchain

Kadena has announced the immediate halt of all business activities and maintenance for its blockchain network, citing challenging market conditions as the primary reason. This leaves the future of the Kadena blockchain to a community-driven model. 566 million KDA tokens are scheduled for distribution to miners until 2139, and an additional 83.7 million will be unlocked from lockup until November 2029. 566 million KDA tokens, the amount of tokens set to be distributed in a specific time frame as part of Kadena’s protocol will continue to be distributed through mining rewards. The network itself is expected to remain operational with an upcoming binary update that will ensure continued functionality independent of the company.
