U.S. Government Shutdown Threatens to Reach Longest Duration in History

The U.S. government shutdown, initially predicted to last only a couple of weeks, is now spiraling into a major crisis in Washington and could extend into November. Beacon Policy Advisors analysts warn that the shutdown might become the longest in American history unless concessions are made by the White House or the Democrats. The partial shutdown, which began earlier this month, has already lasted 20 days, surpassing any previous record set nearly seven years ago when President Donald Trump was in office. Prediction market Kalshi estimates the current shutdown may last around 41 days, a significant increase from the initial prediction of just 14 days two weeks ago.
