Crypto sports platform Sorare has made a bold move, announcing its transition from Ethereum to Solana. The change is driven by Solana’s impressive scalability and user base, according to CEO Nicolas Julia, who cited both factors as key reasons for this strategic shift. 10+ existing games will be migrated to the Solana blockchain, with Sorare CEO emphasizing Solana’s dominance in the fantasy sports cryptocurrency space. Julia highlighted Solana’s achievements in revenue generation, active addresses, and developer activity, pointing out its potential advantage over Ethereum in user engagement. Although acknowledging Solana’s higher centralization compared to Ethereum, Julia ultimately selected it for its prioritization of scalability and security. This transition is expected to be completed by the end of this month, with Sorare maintaining confidence in both ecosystems. Notably, CEO notes continued monitoring of other promising chains like Sui and Aptos. He concludes by stating they will remain closely engaged in the Ethereum ecosystem as well. This move signals a growing trend of platforms exploring alternative blockchains for their operations.
