Blockchain technology company Ripple announced a groundbreaking partnership with Absa Bank, a prominent financial institution in South Africa. This collaboration will see Ripple provide digital asset custody services to Absa Bank customers. This agreement marks a significant milestone for Ripple on the African continent, as it’s their first major digital asset custody collaboration there. Absa Bank manages a substantial amount of assets, with approximately 2.07 trillion South African rand (roughly $119.5 billion). The new service is anticipated to facilitate secure access to digital assets for institutional investors while contributing to the development of robust crypto infrastructure for the financial sector in Africa.
