A recent private key leak has resulted in a significant loss of digital assets, estimated at $21 million. PeckShield, a blockchain security firm, reports that the victim’s wallet, identified as 0x0cdC, was compromised and emptied of both DAI tokens (17.75 million) and MSYRUPUSDP tokens (3.11 million). The hacker has moved these funds to Ethereum, where they are currently under monitoring. This incident highlights the vulnerability of decentralized platforms due to a single user error. 0x0cdC appears to be a personal victim who suffered this loss on Hyperliquid’s platform. Hyperliquid itself remains operational, but this incident underscores the risk associated with self-custody and proper key management.
