Changpeng Zhao (CZ), CEO of Binance, addressed online speculation about the exchange’s involvement with Hyperliquid. In a recent X post, CZ confirmed that YZi Labs, Binance’s investment arm, has not invested in Hyperliquid and denies rumors regarding support for the project’s founder, Jeff Yan. CZ explained that YZiLabs was initially part of the inaugural program for incubation in 2018, but the project ultimately failed, resulting in no recouped investment from YZiLabs. Despite this, CZ expressed his ongoing support for Hyperliquid’s developers regardless of the current situation. He also acknowledged a previously scheduled meeting with Jeff Yan, which was unfortunately not able to happen due to scheduling conflicts.
