Bitcoin Sees 2.99% ‘Kimchi Premium’ on Korean Market

On October 10th, Bitcoin saw a notable price premium in the South Korean market, with its trading price on Upbit reaching 177.7 million KRW at 12:00 AM KST. This translates to a price difference of 5.16 million KRW from global exchange Binance’s price, resulting in a Kimchi Premium of 2.99%. Bitcoin was down by 0.17% compared to the previous day’s figures on Upbit. Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH) recorded a smaller Kimchi Premium of 2.89%. Altcoins like Solana (SOL), XRP (XRP), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Shiba Inu (SHIB), also showcased noticeable premiums ranging from 2.64% to 3.09%, with most trading at 2.6% to 3.1% premium levels.
