Ethereum Foundation Launches Privacy Initiative in Response to Surveillance Concerns

The Ethereum Foundation has announced the ‘Privacy Cluster,’ a team of 47 experts dedicated to enhancing privacy within the Ethereum network. This initiative aims to address growing demand for secure and private transactions. The cluster comprises researchers, engineers, and cryptographers working on protocol-level features like private payments and decentralized identity solutions. These efforts are part of the broader ‘Privacy Stewards for Ethereum’ (PSE) initiative launched in September. The collaboration between the Privacy Cluster and PSE is expected to drive significant advancements in privacy-preserving technologies.
