Ethereum PoS Network: Exit Queue Soars Amidst Kiln’s Withdrawal

The Ethereum Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network is experiencing a significant increase in its exit queue, with over 2.65 million ETH currently estimated to be worth around $9.03 billion and awaiting transfer. According to BlockBeats, the average queue duration for exits stands at an extended 46 days and 3 hours. Meanwhile, the entry queue remains high, with approximately 725,000 ETH valued at roughly $2.47 billion waiting to enter the network. This delay is estimated to be about 12 days and 14 hours. The surge in the exit queue is primarily attributed to Kiln’s decision to withdraw its validator nodes following a hacking incident involving SwissBorg, which has prompted an orderly exit strategy. Kiln had reportedly staked around 1.6 million ETH, and it’s expected that these withdrawn ETH will be re-staked using new validator keys rather than being sold. Kiln confirmed on September 10th that this withdrawal was in response to the impact of a SwissBorg hacking incident, with the aim being to preserve the integrity of their staked assets.
