Stablecoin blockchain startup Plasma has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of three senior executives ahead of its mainnet launch. The company recently raised $373 million in funding, attracting notable investor Peter Thiel and signaling strong momentum for the project. Murat Firat joins as Head of Product, bringing expertise from BiLira, a leading Turkish lira stablecoin issuer; Adam Jacobs steps into the role of Head of Global Payments, leveraging his experience at FTX and Nuvei; and Usmann Khan is appointed Head of Protocol Security, drawing on his deep knowledge as a security researcher from ImmuneFi. 1 Plasma’s mainnet launch is still pending, but initial features point to a focus on stablecoin payments with high transaction speeds (over 1,000 transactions per second) and confidential transactions. The project also aims to offer zero-fee transfers for USDT using an in-protocol paymaster mechanism, eliminating the need for native token holding by users.
