Solana Scam Exposes Rugpulls and Developer Disappearance – Aqua Team Silent

New research by on-chain expert ZachXBT reveals a major cryptocurrency scam within the Solana ecosystem. The project, dubbed Aqua, is suspected of pulling a rugpull, swiping around $4.65 million in SOL coins. Aqua was promoted by numerous crypto influencers and teams like Meteora, Quill Audits, Helius, SYMMIO, Dialect, and others. However, just hours ago the team went silent, disabling replies on all their platforms after funds were rapidly moved to different accounts and exchanges. This follows a similar incident where $41.5 million was stolen from Swiss-based crypto platform SwissBorg due to a security breach at its API provider, Kiln. Notably, these incidents haven’t been linked directly to Solana itself. While both cases highlight vulnerabilities within the blockchain space, they don’t necessarily indicate inherent weaknesses within Solana.
