S&P 500 Excludes Cryptocurrency-Focused Strategy Due to Bitcoin Holdings

The S&P 500 has excluded a strategy led by Michael Saylor from its index due to concerns about Bitcoin holdings, according to market experts. Despite meeting all technical requirements for inclusion, the committee opted against including Strategy, citing risk associated with crypto assets as a primary reason. The company’s substantial Bitcoin holdings (over 638,000 BTC) are believed to have influenced this decision. This exclusion impacted MSTR stock, which dropped by around 2% following the announcement.
