G42 Broadens AI Chip Supplier Options, Exploring AMD, Qualcomm for Its Data Center

UAE-backed technology company G42 is expanding its semiconductor supply options beyond Nvidia to meet the demands of its ambitious AI campus. The firm has initiated discussions with companies like AMD, Cerebras Systems, and Qualcomm to secure the AI chips needed for its 5 gigawatt data center project in collaboration with the U.S., announced during President Trump’s visit that secured deals worth over $200 billion. This initiative aims to develop a leading-edge AI infrastructure hub outside of the United States. While discussions with Huawei regarding its Ascend 910B and CloudMatrix 384 systems are still in early stages, G42 is actively exploring alternatives for chip production.
