Solana’s Alpenglow Proposal Gets Green Light: Speeding Up Block Finalization

Solana’s new consensus protocol proposal, Alpenglow (SIMD-0326), has been approved after a successful voting process. This initiative aims to significantly shorten the time it takes for blocks to finalize from 12.8 seconds to a mere 150 milliseconds. To reach approval, the proposal required a two-thirds majority of votes cast, including both affirmative and negative responses.
