El Salvador Divides Bitcoin Reserve for Quantum Protection Amidst Cryptocurrency Concerns

In a move to enhance security and address potential future threats from quantum computing, El Salvador has distributed its $678 million Bitcoin holdings into 14 separate wallets. The country’s National Bitcoin Office explained that each wallet will hold no more than 500 Bitcoin, valued at roughly $54 million, with an accompanying public dashboard providing citizens access to balance information. This redistribution now puts El Salvador among the top three sovereign holders of Bitcoin, trailing only the United States and China.
