University of Hong Kong Business School Takes a Leap in Crypto Payment

The University of Hong Kong Business School is pioneering the use of cryptocurrency for tuition and donations, as part of Hong Kong’s strategy to become a global leader in virtual assets. After completing technical preparations, the school plans to accept Bitcoin and other digital currencies for payments, aligning with the city’s Stablecoins Ordinance and fostering financial innovation. Professor Cai Hongbin, Dean of HKU’s Business and Economics faculty, confirmed that the initiative is being implemented to explore the potential of digital currencies and demonstrate commitment to responsible adoption within a controlled environment.
