Nigeria Increases Passport Fees by 100%, Effective September 1st

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a significant increase in passport fees. Starting September 1st, 2025, the cost for Standard Nigerian passports will rise by 100%. This will impact both domestic and international applicants, with prices increasing to N100,000 for the 32-page, 5-year validity passport and N200,000 for the 64-page, 10-year validity passport. The increase is aimed at enhancing the quality of passport services offered by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). According to a statement from the NIS, the price adjustments will only affect applications submitted within Nigeria. The new fees are significant following a previous 42% and 33% price increases on 32-page and 64-page passports in 2024 respectively.
