Analysts predict the Federal Reserve will keep its current interest rates unchanged for March, according to CME Group’s ‘FedWatch’ tool. With a high probability of 95.5%, the decision is leaning towards maintaining the current policy settings. However, a possible rate cut of 25 basis points carries a less than 5% chance. Looking ahead to May, the likelihood of keeping rates steady is currently 73.9%. Further down the road, there’s a smaller chance for a cumulative 25-basis point rate cut (25.1%) and even lower chance of a larger cut of 50 basis points at 1%.
