DOGE Security Breach: Social Security Data at Risk After Controversial Transfer

A whistleblower has alleged that the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) exposed the personal data of over 300 million Americans, potentially jeopardizing their Social Security information. Charles Borges, a high-ranking official at the Social Security Administration, filed a complaint with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel and Congress, detailing how DOGE allegedly uploaded sensitive Numident data to a vulnerable cloud server in June. The file reportedly contained names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, and addresses. While Borges acknowledges no breach has been detected, he warns that the lack of independent oversight and audit mechanisms leaves Americans susceptible to identity theft and other harm.
