Bitpanda has abandoned its London initial public offering plans due to inadequate market liquidity and unfavorable market conditions for crypto listings. The exchange now prioritizes alternative markets like Frankfurt and New York for potential listings, following a trend of tech and fintech companies shifting away from London’s investment landscape. Bitpanda’s co-founder, Eric Demuth, highlighted the lack of favorable investor participation in the current market environment, which he believes hinders successful IPOs, especially within the cryptocurrency sector. As the London Stock Exchange faces unprecedented fundraising difficulties, with first half activity at its lowest point in thirty years, other companies like Wise have already relocated major listings to alternative locations.
