Upbit Announces Major Wallet Address Update Following Security Breach

South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit, has issued a warning to users about its wallet address system. The exchange is implementing a major update by removing all old deposit addresses from the system in order to enhance security and user protection. Users are advised to create a new wallet address before making any deposits to avoid losing funds during this period of service downtime. Upbit has confirmed that withdrawals and deposits will gradually resume starting December 5th after a comprehensive system update, with services restarting on 21 different networks for 33 assets. Users are urged to double-check their accounts, especially those using automated transfers, to ensure the correct address information is reflected.
